Right now, Akshayanagar in South Bangalore does not have its metro station. Currently, the nearest metro station to Akshaynagar is Singasandra metro station, which is 4.3 Km away and can be reached via Begur - Koppa Rd. This metro runs on Yellow Namma Metro Line. But there are a few nearby metro stations that people can use as well. To reach Akshayanagar from these stations, you will need to take a bus, auto, or cab for the last part of your journey.

In Bangalore, getting around easily depends a lot on good connectivity. For people living in or visiting Akshayanagar, knowing about the nearest metro stations is helpful. Even though this busy area in South Bangalore does not yet have a direct Namma Metro station, there are some stations on the Green Line that can help you reach nearby. From there, it’s just a short ride to Akshayanagar.

In the future, the Pink Line of Namma Metro is expected to give an easy metro access to Akshayanagar. This will make travelling from this area easier and faster.

  • Yelachenahalli Metro Station (Green Line)
  • This is the nearest metro station to Akshayanagar. It is about 6-7 km away. From this locale, you can take a bus, auto-rickshaw, or taxi to reach Akshayanagar.
  • Konanakunte Cross Metro Station - This metro station is 24 min (10.1 km) away and can be reached via Gottigere - Kengeri Rd/Gottigere Main Rd. There are several buses and cabs to reach there.
  • Rashtriya Vidyalaya Road (RV Road) Metro Station - This metro station is 20 min (11.8 km) and is accessible via Silkboard Double Decker Flyover.

  • Pink Line: The Pink Line is also under construction. It will connect Kalena Agrahara to Nagawara. A part of this line might open in late 2025, and the full line could be ready by late 2026. This line will have both underground and overground tracks.
  • Blue Line: The Blue Line is a very important one. It will go all the way to the airport! It will connect Central Silk Board to KR Puram, and from there to Kempegowda International Airport (KIA). Parts of this line might open in 2026.
  • Helps with Traffic:
  • Bangalore is known for its traffic jams. The metro helps people avoid these traffic problems and makes daily travel faster and easier.

  • You can buy single-journey tickets or use a metro smart card for discounted fares. There are also mobile apps to help plan your journey.

Many new residential townships in Akshaynagar, Bangalore, are close to the metro stations. One of the townships in the area is Prestige Southern Star, which is only 4.6 Km away from Singasandra metro station. It can be reached via BMTC buses or cabs in 15-20 mins.
